Light Yagami is a fictional character and the protagonist (or antagonist, depending on one's perspective) of the manga and anime series "Death Note," created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. He's a highly intelligent high school student who stumbles upon a mysterious notebook called the "Death Note."
Light takes on the alias "Kira" and begins a campaign to eliminate criminals worldwide by writing their names in the Death Note. He believes that he can become the god of this new world by ridding it of evildoers.
