L is one of the essential characters in the Death Note series. L, who's name is later known as Lawliet, is the opposition against the protagonist of the series Light Yagami. He is a brilliant detective, who is tasked with discovering the identity of Kira and bringing him to justice for all the murders he had committed.
L was brought in from England to solve the case around the mysterious deaths happening in Japan. He is a world renowned detective, but neither the public, nor any police agency are aware of his name or appearance, until he was revealed in the manga.
L's appearance is quite the opposite of what a well respected detective would look like. He is tall and lanky, sits in an unconventional style, hunched over, with his feet on the chair, almost in a squat like position. He always has a nonchalant, unassuming expression, with most of his face and eyes covered by his unmaintained black hair. He is always seen wearing his signature white shirt and blue jeans, sporting a simple look. One of L's habits is his overindulgence in sweets. His butler Watari is mostly seen bringing his all kinds of sweets, and pastries for L to devour.
What truly sets L apart is his relentless pursuit of justice and his unwavering commitment to solving the Kira case. L is willing to go to great lengths to achieve his goals, even if it means risking his own life. He is willing to work anonymously and employs elaborate strategies to maintain his true identity hidden from Kira, making him a formidable adversary.
L is the enigmatic and brilliant detective hired by the authorities to apprehend Kira. He is known for his eccentric habits, such as sitting in a crouched position and consuming sweets. L is determined to uncover Kira's identity, setting up a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game with Light.
