Join our 2-day hands-on workshop at The Comics Cafe, where you’ll learn the complete process of 3D printing and painting your chosen model. Whether you're a beginner, hobbyist, or a curious creative, this workshop will guide you through the exciting world of 3D printing and miniature art.
Day 1: Learn to Print (1 Hour)

Introduction to 3D Printing Basics — understand how 3D printers work, materials used, and very basic printing settings.

Choose your favorite character/model from our curated digital library.

Learn how to slice and prepare files for 3D printing.

Watch the model come to life as it prints layer by layer. It can take 4-6 hours to completely print a model. It's not required to wait till the printing completes. After printing, our staff will remove the model from the printer and dip it in the IPA bucket. You can resume from here the next day.

Discussion on post-processing techniques and model care.
Day 2: Clean, Prep & Paint (2 Hours)

Learn how to remove supports, clean, and join your 3D-printed model using our provided tools.

Understand sanding techniques to achieve a smooth finish.

Get an introduction to the painting fundamentals of using Acrylic Colors.

Learn about base coating, layering, dry brushing, and washes to enhance model realism.

1. Choose Your Model Start by selecting a single-color primed 3D miniature from our diverse collection. We offer a variety of models, from fantasy characters to futuristic robots, ensuring there's something for everyone.
2. Understand the Process Before you begin painting, we'll give you a quick overview of the miniature painting process:
- Sanding: Smooth out any rough edges on your model for a clean finish.
- Priming: We use a black/white/Gray primer to create a uniform base, which helps the paint adhere better and enhances color vibrancy.
- Painting: Using Vallejo/Brustro Model Colors, you’ll get to paint your miniature, adding layers of detail and bringing your chosen character to life.
3. Gather Your Supplies We provide all the necessary tools and materials, including high-quality paints, brushes, and a palette. Our selection of paints ensures you have a wide range of colors to create detailed and vibrant designs.
4. Paint and Personalize Dive into the painting process at your own pace. Our friendly staff are on hand to offer tips and guidance, whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter. Feel free to experiment with different techniques to personalize your miniature.
5. Display or Take Home Your Creation Once you’ve finished painting, you can choose to display your masterpiece in our café for others to admire or take it home as a unique keepsake.
